Card Access, Inc. is accepting resumes for the position of a Hardware Design Engineer, in Draper/Salt Lake City, Utah.

Conceive, research, design, develop, and test electronic hardware components and products for commercial, industrial, and/or scientific use to support client requirements. Design electronic circuits and components using knowledge of electronic theory, concepts, and applications with emphasis in radio frequency (RF) and power management, and materials properties, and create schematic designs that meet product requirements. Assist in preparing, reviewing, and verifying product layout and build packages. Test/verify/validate prototype products built from completed designs and builds.

Strong understanding of RF circuit theory and implementation including antennas, impedance matching, and electromagnetic theory. Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit theory and design including microcontrollers. Knowledge of power electronics principles such as DC-DC converters and efficiency optimization. Knowledge of CAD tools such as Altium and LTSpice. Knowledge of serial communication protocols such as I2C, TTL, RS232, RS485, etc. Knowledge of programming/scripting languages such as C/C++, and Python. Familiarity with the Linux subsystem and computer networks protocols such as TCP/IP, Ethernet, WiFi, and Bluetooth. Knowledge of electronic testing lab equipment and domestic and international product certification testing, including FCC, UL, IC, and CE.
